How many partner visas can one UAE trade licence sponsor?
This comes up constantly from people setting up with a partner: can we both get a visa off one licence, or do we need two licences?
In most cases, yes
A single trade licence can sponsor visas for more than one partner/shareholder, as long as each one holds a genuine shareholding in the company. The number isn't fixed at exactly one or two.
- The company's visa allocation (quota). This is tied to things like the licence type, the office or flexi-desk space leased, and the activity — not the number of partners wanting visas.
- Each partner's actual shareholding. A visa sponsored through the company requires a real ownership stake, not just a role on paper.
- Free zone vs mainland rules. Some free zones set their own partner-visa limits per package tier; mainland companies follow the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation's allocation rules.
